Privacy Policy

By using the Housefly website and other software provided on or in connection with our services, as described in our Terms of Service (collectively, the “Service”), you consent to the following privacy policy

1 Collection, processing and use of data

When you use the Services, we may collect device and browser metadata such as IP addresses, operating system type and version, date and time of access, the URLs of the pages you visited and for how long you visited those pages, any referrer URL, interactions with the user interface, the name of your internet provider, and analytics information used by Matomo Analytics. We may use this data for the following purposes:

1.1 To ensure a smooth connection to the Services;

1.2 To ensure a great user experience of the Services;

1.3 To evaluate system security and stability; and

1.4 For general administrative purposes.

To use the email notifications service, you will be asked to provide and verify your email address. To register for the email notifications service we use a double opt-in procedure. We will send you a notification email with a one-time-password (OTP) which is a 6-character code, asking you to verify your email address and to confirm you wish to receive notifications from the service by inserting the OTP in the designated field on the website. If you no longer wish to receive notifications via email from us, you can unsubscribe at any time without incurring any costs by deactivating the email notifications feature on the website, and we will then delete your email address from our database.

1.1 Email notifications in the European Union

In accordance with GDPR, we use the so-called Double Opt-in method. We will only send you service notifications via email if you confirm via the one-time-password (OTP) in our notification e-mail that you are the owner of the given email address. If you confirm your email address, we will save your email address and the time of registration until you deactivate the email notifications feature. You can deactivate the email notifications feature at any time, and your email address will be removed from our database

2 Account creation

You will need to create an account on Housefly to use the Service. We don’t collect any personal data to allow you to create an account and use the Service. You will only be asked to connect a third-party blockchain wallet with the website and we will collect your public blockchain wallet address when you sign up with your wallet. This information is collected and processed to connect you to your historical data and your account.

3 Use of service

When using the Service, files and other content might be uploaded or created, and other usage related data can be created, collected, and processed. The Service works best when information and content is shared. If you upload information or content to the Service, you should expect this information or content to be shared with others. We may share your information, including any files or content you provide or create in the Service, provided that those files or content, by their nature, support sharing. All the information you upload to the Service are stored on an appropriate server infrastructure for processing. Data is stored on cloud servers until deleted.. For any files we keep, we keep them for the sole purpose of giving you and your designated third parties access to the files and data for as long as you need them. During that time, we may view that data to, for example, troubleshoot problems, or to gather anonymized user data.

4 Use of cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the Service. We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to provide our service. Cookies are not strictly necessary for the website to work, but it will provide you with a better browsing experience. If you choose to delete or block these cookies, some features of this site may not work as intended. Cookies are not used to identify you personally and are not used for any purpose other than those described here.

4.1 User authentication

Data collected on site and app functionality and speed, how Patreon is used and detecting and gathering reporting on bugs helps improve Patreon and the services we offer.

4.3 Social networks

Some technologies help you to interact with social networks you are signed into while using the Service, such as authenticating a social network profile and other features you employ with the social network, or that are allowed in the social network’s privacy policy. These may be set and controlled by the social networks, and your preferences with those social networks.

4.4 How to manage cookies

You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level. If you reject or delete cookies, the Service may no longer function as intended. Each browser provides different mechanisms for managing cookies. Look at your browser’s help menu to determine the best way to modify your browser’s cookie storage.

5 Analytics and additional services

We may use web analytics and other services for the continuous optimization of the Service. The tracking provides a statistically accurate record of the use of the Service and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing and improving the Service. The information is used to evaluate the use of the Services, to compile reports on user activity and to provide other services for the purposes of market research and tailor-made design of Services.

6 Social media plug-ins

We may use Social plug-ins in the Service from, for example, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to increase awareness of the Service, and for promotional purposes. We are not responsible for activity or content found on those (and any other) third-party sites. Please note that a link to a third-party website or service does not mean that we have reviewed or endorsed its privacy practices. If you visit a third-party website or service, you are subject to its privacy practices and policies, not ours. This privacy policy does not apply to any personal information that you provide to these other websites and services.

7 Data Security

If you have created an account, access to this account is only possible via your blockchain wallet private key which is used to authorize the request to access your account. You should always keep your blockchain wallet private key confidential and close the browser window when you stop communicating with us, especially if you share your computer with others. In addition, we use SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology in connection with the highest encryption level supported by your browser. In general, this is a 256-bit encryption. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments. Although we take precautions intended to help protect the data that we collect and process, no system or electronic data transmission is completely secure. Any transmission of your data is at your own risk and we expect that you will use appropriate security measures to protect your personal information. We may suspend your use of all or part of the Services without notice if we suspect or detect any breach of security. You understand and agree that we may deliver electronic notifications about breaches of security to the email address that you provided to us. If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security of and the information in your account, including your blockchain wallet private key.

8 Children and minors

We do not intentionally gather personal data from visitors who are under the age of 18. Our Terms of Service require all users to be at least 18 years old. If a person under 18 years old submits personal data to Housefly and we learn that the personal data is the information of a person under 18 years old, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible. 9 Changes to the privacy policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of the date on which it is made available on the site. As our site evolves and offers become available, or as a result of changes in government or regulatory requirements, it may be necessary to change this privacy policy.
